Dan Watson, Co-Artistic Director
Dan came out of the forests of Huntsville, Canada. He is a graduate of Humber College and most recently École Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Dan has created and performed work across Canada, Scotland, France and Japan. He is co-founder of Golgi Apparatus in Toronto, Japan’s Ahuri Theatre, an international physical theatre company, and a member of Compagnie Houppz!, with whom he created and toured the hit show SplasH20 to sold out houses across Canada and France. SplasH20 was recently nominated for outstanding production at the 2008 Prix Eloize in Eastern Canada. Since returning to Toronto he created and performed in Bigfoot (Golgi Apparatus) and Yabu No Naka (Ahuri Theatre), performed in the world premiere workshop of The Finger (Theatre Panik) and Ed Roy’s Golden Thug (Buddies in Bad Times/Topological Theatre). Next April he will travel to Japan to present Ahuri Theatre’s Yabu No Naka at the prestigious Setagaya Public Theatre.
Christina Serra, Co-Artistic Director
Christina is a performer, creator and teacher of theatre. She is proud to have grown up in Peterborough, Ontario. After graduating from the Theatre Performance Program at Humber College, she performed across Canada, Scotland, the United States and as far away as Istanbul, Turkey. With Stranger Theatre, she created and performed The Counterfeit Marquise, East of the Sun, West of the Moon, The World Turned Upside Down, and most recently And What Alice Found There. Some of her other performing credits include By the Bog of Cats (Toronto Fringe), The Everyman Rock Musical (Edinburgh Fringe) and Sam Shepards’ The Late Henry Moss. Christina is also a co-founder of Golgi Apparatus, which successfully launched it’s debut of BigFoot in Toronto, 2007. She has taught classes for the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People, the Toronto District School Board, the City of Toronto and the Halifax Theatre Festival. Christina is also co-founder of Tickle Truck Productions, theatre for young people, with its first production, Bee and Touli’s Jungle Adventure touring Ontario schools. In addition to all this, she runs her successful company Music and Play with Christina, teaching Kindermusik to children under 7 and Disco Ducks, an original program for children 2&3 years.
